I switched from Windows 2000 Server some months ago. Will give you a list of free antispyware program. Don't know if they are still compatible with Windows 2000. (Usually they all worked, you can check them out). Windows does not support anything prior to Windows XP SP 2.

Don't think that you can still receive critical updates for 2000. Very important you have good security an always reboot after a virus or spyware is found.

http://www.grisoft.com Download their free personal AVG antispyware program. Works free with no auto updates and guard. If you want the auto updates and the guard in the tray you will have to purchase. I don't recommend you purchase as I have the purchased and swithced to the free. The guard uses to much resources. Update on a manual basis. Scans all 273,000 objects in my system.

http://www.emsisoft.com Download their free version of A2Squared Malware out of Austria. Excellent program that will scan all my 273,000 objects and gives you protection from hijackers, rogue dialers, spyware and malware. Just about the same as the above.

http://www.superanitspyware.com This program is excellent as it will usually find spyware missed by all others. Download their free home for personal use version. Scans all 273,000 objects.

http:/www.lavasoft.com Out of Sweden, download their free home for personal use Ad-adware Se Personal. Scans only the areas needed to find spyware. This company has been around long before anybody ever even thought of spyware.
