I found a travel company that does tours of Agra, including the Taj Mahal. I tried the booking process and it accepted the 1st January 2007 as a booking date. So I assume it is open.

I'm not sure about their custom regarding this site, I would call a travel agent and ask them. Since the Taj Mahal is so important, I don't think it would be simple to actually check there.

yes taj mahal is open on 1st january 2007 since it is not a friday..... taj mahal is closed on all fridays other then that it is open all days including national holidays.
