People laugh when they are nervous. You were probably just nervous when seeing that behavior.

What does it mean...well, I'm guessing it would give you a bad impression as you could not control yourself. I would bet the person doing the hiding has some sort of social phobia which you were being insensitive to. Some people do not like being around other people...especially strangers. I worked with a woman years ago who, if the elevator she was on fill up, would get off the elevator and the stairs (21 flights). She hugged the wall when walking down the hall and all around would go out of her way to avoid accidental contact with others.

in such cases it is better that u don't laugh at him because the person who is hiding behind his co-workers is not interested( may be , he feels guilty for the act that hurted u sometime before)in talking to u at the present moment... it is better to leave that as such and have a hand on them sometime in the near future...this will sometimes earn a bad opinion about u on other people around u,what ever that matters about the other person whom u laughed at...

I will suspect that the person is trying a prank on me.
And if I laughed, it will only be due to such an unusual behavior depicted by that person.
