Up and pulling them out would result in a very hellacious backlash. There needs to be a plan for leaving Iraq. And for those who think doing so would mean leaving us open for attack, think about this: nearly all of our military forces are in Iraq, which is no longer a threat. We have little to no soldiers in Afghanistan, which is still a quite live threat. I'll let you be the judge.

Eventually.. of course. Right now? No! I am glad that Rumsfeld is gone and I truly hope that our President has heard the voices from the military and the country that he leads.

I don't believe that Iraq ever had WMD nor do I believe that they should have ever been invaded. Our War on Terrorism is not a true war as we don't have a true opponent. We just can't go after everyone and say that they are terrorists and we will destroy them. We went and played Pin the war on the terrorist and that pin landed on Sadam Hussein's behind.

I don't believe they thought it out from beginning to the eventual pull-out and I don't understand this coalition. Coalition? What coalition? In WWI and WWII we had a true coalition. This one is a joke.

Oh well, I just hope that from here out Mr. Bush starts looking beyond his own personal issues and starts working with the global community to make life in Iraq better for their citizens and get us the heck out of there as soon as humanly possible.

we can't. The democrats you voted for know we can't. They lied to you.
Was going there in the first place a mistake? right now it looks so, maybe it won't 30 years from now, who knows. But that debate is OVER. The fact is we are there.
The real enemy now is Iran. Saddam was a nasty guy, but he kept Iran in check, which is why we tolerated him, and sometimes even supoorted him over the years. The new governemnt can't do it yet. So now it's our guys doing the job until they can, which is keep iran in check.
I'm going to lay it out for you. Simple. We are there because of the oil. Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran, is the new Hitler, right now, as we speak he is holding hearings as to wether or not the Halocaust ever took place. Do a news search if you don't beleive me. He is waiting for us to leave so he can sweep across the region. He wants nukes, probably not to use on us, he doesn't have to. All he needs them for is to intimidate his neighbors, take them over. What do we care? Well I'll spell it out for you. The majority of the oil comes from there. Our other big provider, Venezuala, is in cahoots with iran. Ahmadinejad has been meeting with Chavez. Why?
All Ahmadinejad has to do to bring the US down is turn off the oil spicket. No oil, your kids don't eat! Most Americans, when they think of the price of oil going up, think only of when they put the nozzle in their cars gas tank is the only time they are going to be affected. NOT SO. When a farmer plants his field, harvests it what does he use? A tractor! that runs on OIL. A truck picks up the farmers product takes it to the be processed and turned into your bowl of cornflakes. another turck brings in the paper that makes the packaging, another truck takes the finished product to the grocer's warehouse, another truck take the box of cornflakes to your local grocery store. Tony the Tiger uses a lot of oil! Are you getting the picture? We need the middle east to be free of the mindset Ahmadinejad and the radical islam represent. They want to destroy us, and pulling our troops out will ensure that they will. they all ready have drawn up the plans on how to do it. All we need to do is step out of their way, which is what a lot of people here want to do.

Because....?

They are there for a reason, and an eminently justifiable and sensible reason. And their stay has been made harder by the anti-war idiots whose actions have been a great comfort and support to the insurgents and terrorists and terrorist-supporting states.

Why did they support our enemies over our own troops and our own national security?

Maybe instead of asking people, you should ask soldiers. I fail to see how people think that they should be listened to when we arent even listening to the people who are over their and actually know what its like.
If you have noticed, there are only a handful of soldiers protest the war, unlike vietnam, where large groups of soldiers protested. that should signify right away that our troops do not consider this a lost cause, and feel that the good that they have done is being overlooked because the news wants to support its political views over actually reporting the truth.
