With over 40 years experience as a self employed heating engineer behind me and fitting on average two combis a week I would say without a doubt Worcester have the edge at present. They are very much a " fit and forget " boiler . The Greenstar condensing boilers have the Bosh technology and in the last 2 years that we have been installing them in any numbers, they have proved to be very reliable as were the CDi units previous . . In the UK we have been very much behind the continent with the Combi boilers and it is only in the last 10/12 years have things taken off. Combis got a bad name in the early days with people putting small units that were only designed for flats / small homes in large 4.5 bedroom dwellings. With combi units as big as 40kw input they can supply hot water as fast as any tank system and unlike a tank system they will continue to supply long after the tanks have run cold.
The main thing to remember is fit a unit that is big enough to supply hot water for the number of bathrooms and passable occupants that may reside..

The only thing I can tell you is that I have a Worcester Bosch boiler. Had it for 3 years - no problems, and my house is lovely and warm. I was talking with a friend on Saturday night and he actually said that he had a valiant boiler at one time and it was c***. My son, who works for Worcester Bosch, agreed with him.

Bosch boilers are very good but Vaillant were the original Combi I believe, Our Vaillant 242 Combi is now about 17 years old and has only had a diaphragm and a fan replaced. Still works perfectly, but I will be changing it soon for a Vaillant condensing. By the way I think the Ecomax has now evolved to Ecotec Plus and Pro!

first part of do is call lower back guy or woman who did restore, as fault continues to be modern-day , and you will possibly have paid for a factor that may no longer required, they are to blame as they have been the final human beings to artwork on boiler. 2d be specific that guarantee has run out (2 years) if no longer call out worcester, particularly high priced restore for sensor, except you reside in centre of London , or did you call out an emergency company?. a probability pass sensor or diverter valve yet without seeing it may no longer propose, desire you get it taken care of,

Ecomax. Nothing wrong with the Worcester boiler but their service charges are horrendous and spares are almost immpossible to get yourself.
