For me I had to be a full week late. Every one I took before that was negative, so I got a blood test instead. I kept taking them out of curiosity and it was 1 week later that they finally came out positive, but barely.
I tried all the brands. Even the ones that claim to be able to be taken before a missed period. Every woman is different. That's why they say 99% accurate.

Hi there. I just wanted to set the record straight. If you are talking about a urine test that you do at home (or for that matter one that they do at the doctors office) you will want to use your first mornings urine and you should really wait until you are a week late for the best results. Some tests claim that they can tell you sooner but you may be wasting your money and end up needing to buy another test.
What I wanted to tell you was that a blood pregnancy test is reliable even before you miss your period, though most doctors will want to wait until you are a certain number of days late to avoid ordering needless tests. Many doctors will not accept the validity of your own test and will want you to have another. You might check with your doctor to see if this is the case. If money is a concern there is no point in paying for two tests. If your doctor is going to require a blood test you may as well have them order it and not waste the money buying an at home test.
BTW, if you are pregnant, Congratulations!
Love and Blessings

It really depends on the individual. Some women produce a large amount of pregnancy hormone pretty early on where as some it takes a few weeks before even the faintest line shows up. The best bet is follow the test directions and if it comes out negative and you haven't started your period wait a couple of days and try again.

Home Pregnancy tests are very sensitive. Some you can take as early as 5 days prior to the day your period is due to start. You will want one with the lowest sensitivity. Below is a website where you see the different brands and sensitivity levels.

I´ve seen an ad on TV that says that you can find out 36hrs after having unprotected sex but to be more accurate I sugest to take a blod test not a home test I mean if you want to be really sure

I just took mine 5 days before I missed my period and came back positive. I took 6 test and 3 different brands all came back +. You should try the Clear blue easy digital test. There are no lines that can be confusing. It just says "pregnant or "not pregnant". Good luck to you.

1st thing in the morning after your period is late should be pretty accurate, alot of tests now can be done 4-5 days before you miss a period.

It all depends. If your pregnant HCG doubles every 2 days.

You need to start testing when you have missed your period then test every few days until your get a positive or your period comes.

If you know when you ovulated you can test 14 days after ovulation!

Wait atleast 1-2 weeks after your missed period. Some HPT can determine sooner. (I found out when I was a week pg.) Your hormones should be traceable by then. If you go to a clinic it's free... Hope you get the answer you want.
