Looks like the headline was chopped off in your question so it is hard to say exactly what it meant. Was the headline "Gunmen kill 3 children in Gaza" or "Israel: Gunmen kill 3 children in Gaza"?

In any event the Israelis are not known for their compassion and routinely target civilians as a matter of course. The headline could have meant anything. The purpose is to inflame passions and sell newspapers, but Israel does a perfectly good job inflaming passions on its own by blowing up residential buildings and does not need any 'misleading' headlines to inflame things further.

A headline I saw last in a free London Newspaper read:
MERRY XMAS FROM NABLUS- Teddies discovered in bomb lab ready to be stuffed with explosives with the wires protruding from them to be smuggled to Israel to be detonation by unwary buyers during the festive season.
And although Israel pulled out of Gaza and has been offering the hand of peace Palestinian groups continue to send rockets into Israeli.
Such a peace loving nation those Arabs seem to be just so full of hatred.

The object of a newspaper is to sell advertising space. The bigger their circulation the more space they can sell and for more money. To sell papers they need or think they need a sensational headline and story. The real situation or the truth comes as a secondary consideration. The Sun is a prime example of this.

What you are saying is true; The headline is misleading. However, it is also time for some Israeli organization to have a newspaper or any other kind of media which doesn't preach hatered towards Russia, Serbia and other countries.

As a Catholic I am always shocked and amazed by the way the thoughts, words and teachngs of the Church and its members are represented in the media. However, catching headlines sell newspapers, selling newspapers makes money and that is all people care about. It is sad really.
