A mature question, for a free world! From experience of what we see on the new's, it's rare we see a white person the victim of racisit abuse. We know that is certainly not the case, but do you think this is ignored more?. Surely racism is a two way thing? Please no silly racist answers!

All races have racist problems. Just look at the light and dark skinned people of Cuba, tribal wars in Africa, etc. The Japanese are also victim to a superiority complex, and "proper breeding" has been something of concern all through history. Quite honestly, I hear more racism in the few hours I spend in a Black beauty salon than I hear in a week just living my life normally. And a white person being a victim of racial abuse doesn't make for a sensational story, so no, you don't see it on the news alot. I think that is the largest racism of all, the "poor little black people" attitude.

The United States of America's has a pronlem. We seem to see white people as the head of racism. They aren't. Because of so much media contradicting real facts about history and events and throwing it on the white people, now everybody thinks that white people are racist. I'm not saying they aren't any. I do know that most white folks are very diverse. I'm a hispanic and i know this for a fact. The only reason white people are considered racist is because some white IDIOTS who are racist make everybody look bad. Like muslims after 9-11, you know. After that disaster every muslim in one way, shape or form will feel discriminated because some people will look at them as terrorist or dangerous. One bad apple spoils the rest.

Racism surely is a two way street. However in western culture white people are perceived as the ones with more opportunity availed to them. The are also seen as the oppressors in many instances, resulting in and attitude of acceptance towards hatred of whites.

All cultures have racism, ironically enough stating that all the majority of white people are racist which is starting to appear in answers is taking a stereotype to the extreme and stating it as fact, thus racist.

Racism is everywhere, I challenge you to find a person that at some point in time has not felt victim to racism.

yes it is preceived this way in the media.
such as this old black lady that got shoot in Atlanta, she shoot 3 times at police hitting them and they fired back and killed her. Now the black community has the Black Panthers out there. now if we make that a white old lady could the KKK go out there. of course not because that would be racist. but it is also more than a two way thing there is a lot more races out there. i think racism stems from the pride of your own race that slowly devolps into hatred for others.
another thing that kinda gets to me is how the black culture tried so hard to be equal and not to be segregated yet they, as a culutre ,do this all the time. they do this by having BLACK Miss America pagents (only for blacks), BET, United ***** College fund, Ect, but then get made when white people or government says things like chosing students for a school can be judged on race. or having a white golf club or white college plans. this subject gets to alot of people and it will never be fixed unless a supernatrul being comes to this earth and makes our (as humans) view bigger and relize it is the planet that bonds us not our views that tear us.

You've pretty much answered your own question because I have to agree on the statement part of your question. Yes racism coming from the Caucasian side is definitely ignored a lot and I feel as though they started it. But now racism is totally out of control. This nationality hating that nationality. This world is filled with hate and in my opinion, eventually, it's going to be a sad state of affairs when we all have to depend on one another in order to maintain the earth. Look at what happened when 911 occurred. All of a sudden everyone came together. There was no color involved. Why is it that we have to have some type of catastrophe in order for people to help each other and show love for one another. It's a damn shame! I sure hope we don't get hit by a meteor shower or the meteor itself in order for people to get up off their tired @sses to help someone that isn't the same color or have the same religious belief to save a person's life.

Yes. The reasons are more complicated than just media focus however. White persons in the western world have historically held the reigns of power. That means that no matter how other races felt about them, they could do little or nothing about it. For the most part, whites are still in the positions of power whether individually they happen to be racist or not. Most people recognize this. It is not so much individuals feelings about a certain race that makes for societal wrongs as the power they have to to inflict pain or curtail the rights of others..

Personally , i think whites are much more racist than any other race because the racism in america started with them. a lot of whites think they are better than anyone else and it is NOT true, and it is not fair yet the media does focus on racism just to get people like JESSE JACKSON in an uproar so they can have bigger stories the next day. and yes whites are victims of racism but it is not as nearly as many times as blacks. most whites hate the other races just because they don't truly know them.
i say get to know them and your feelings about them will change.

Whites are considered the masters at it but in reality racism exists in all groups. There isn't much precedent for whites as victims of racism because we are seen as the largest purveyors of it. Presently the double standard still rules over proceedings of race.

It depends on who is doing the "considering". I have heard some VERY racist statements from both black and hispanic people. It is just as evil to denounce white people for being white, as it is to exclude blacks/asians/hispanics/whatevers for the color of their skins!

If a white journalist denounces an inter-racial marriage on the air, he is called a "racist".

If a black movie producer denounces an inter-racial marriage in an interview, he is called "sir"!

Both actions are racist, and yet only one gets denounced. WHY?

Being white I will tell you that you are correct. They never consider crimes against whites racially motivated. Why? Because they are afraid of lawsuits I assume. Or it could be that noone wants to believe that any other race is racist other than whites. Which is not true.
