No one ever gets "tired" of music in any of its genres. If someone actually does, its high time he/she stops breathing...

Although I dont believe Rock or Hip Hop will ever fade out, I do think that if they go on hiatus Country will rise. Theory, If rock or Hip Hop leaves, which are the music that represents America, we will be soo sad that the only music to listen to would be country. Its majority sound is singing of the blues, and thats exactly how we would feel if either or is removed.

AS far as i know Rock music has never gone out of fashion. Hip hop like rock has retained its status since its introduction. The thing they-and all music have in common is that most people age out of it. Just as one generation moves away from rock and more towards pop their younger contemporaries are discovering rock and new emerging artists. with hip hop the generations have moved on in different ways-because its a broader market some move on to r& b, adult urban contemporary, pop or some form of jazz. Our music taste tend to evolve overall. Some people like me can appreciate most-but most have preferences for a specific style.

blues, there will always be blues :)).
Like fashion in clothes, there is fashion in music. So as clothes fashion rotates, so music will, with small differences (it will be worse).
As people become less smarter, they will enjoy more simple music it will be needed. (symphonic is most complicated by me as it involves a lot of different sounds and people).
People tend to incline to look more than to sound, so the prettier or interesting you are, the more appreciated your music will be. So it is fashion, and fashion is made by singers.
Maybe Hip-Hop will become music played by Pimps and naked girls while rock will become violent played by criminals. (see Burzum for example). Or maybe we will return to '60 but with different instruments.

Indie has been getting really big latly but I've been hearing alot of these "trance" and "techno" remixes on the radio, wouldn't be surprised to hear more of it. Maybe just the beats?
