Stop all antibiotics continue the breathing treatments and see another dr.
the humidifier you use do you clean it regularly? Sometimes they can harbor bactiria and continue to make them sick.

I have a 7mth old daughter who also has had a cough for about 2mths now. We have finally succumbed to giving her a mix of Qvar 50 and Salbutomal (asthma pumps) although not for asthma just to relieve similar symptoms. The doc thinks the secretions caused by common colds etc is causing the coughing. I have also agreed with the doc that if things don't improve in 1 week we will be referred to a paediatrician (I was hoping they would have the answer!). The only positive to bear in mind is that as long as they don't have a fever and are eating/gaining weight they are okay...I know its heartbreaking though to watch a little one go through this. sorry I dont have an answer.

With whooping cough, you don't have a constant cough...you have coughing fits at different points of the day and typically they are worst at night. In between coughing fits you are pretty much okay. When I had whooping cough, it was never a deep kind of cough. It was just incontrollable and very hard to breathe...that is what the "whoop" is, the sound it makes when you are trying to suck some air in. There are many audio clips online of what whooping cough sounds like.

Are you giving her the breathing treatments like you are supposed to? EVERY SINGLE DAY! Not once every couple days when you feel like it. She's probably on Pulmacort or Albuterol...and those are treatments that you give either 1 time a day or even up to 2 times for pulmacort and 4 times albuterol...it takes him for babies to get better. My son was RSV @ 1 month and he's still on the nebulizer 1 time a day..and sometimes he needs it 2 times a day.

Sounds to me like your child is experiencing Allergies. Because I don't know the extent of her illness, all I can say is, trust your in-stinks, If you are noticing that her cough is getting worse, bring her back to the doctor. Also, if you do not trust that this pediatrician is the best for your child, search around for one that fits your child's needs.

Do you or someone else smoke around the child? If so, quit! Smoking can cause these problems.
