It is advantageous in the sense that colonizer brought their culture

I think it was a huge fiasco and a huge mistake for which we still pay the price today.

Europeen countries raced each other to colonise the whole world. At the time it was more about who would get the most land than anything else.

They simply did not think of the cost involve in holding and maintening that land. As a result...they had to give it back.
But the people of those countries have been asking for financial help ever since...and also get easier immigration visa to the country who did colonise them.

If it was not for colonialism...we would not be living in a multi-cultural society and there would not be any or very muslims in Europe. Nor would we have had the war in Vietnam and the start of the Asian immigration.

Everyone would have stayed in their home country and nobody would be whinging about racism.
