I think i need a new car battery?

about how much do car batterys cost and how do i really know if i need a new car battery or if i just need to charge it up or clean it off.

Any auto parts place can TEST your battery to tell if it is good or not. How old is it??

Batteries range in price from about $30 to $100....the better ones will be stronger and will last longer. You should be able to get a real good one for 60 or 70 bucks. Do test your old one first....I had one (ford) that lasted 11 years and was still pretty strong when I got a new one.

take it to Napa and they will come out to the car and test it for free. If it is bad then get a new one. Napa batteries were rated number 1 in the consumer reports. I would get the 84 legend series. It has a 2 year free replacement and an 84 month prorated replacement. Just remember that what ever type of battery you get the warranty is always prorated after teh initial 1 or 2 years. For instance a Napa battery would cost you .80 cents per month used. So if your battery was 3 years old and died it would cost you about $28 to get a brand new one.

Not worth to take chance with battery in the middle of winter. It is so inconvenient. If it dies just replace it. Don't even think twice.

Word to the wise - alternator or something else may be the prob. Have the technician check it and tell you it is the battery that you need.

It will set you back - by say, $50 to $70, depending on the quality. It is well worth it.

you need a new battery if it dies and when you recharge it, it dies again.
they ususally cost about 40-50 bucks depending on what kind you need.

you can take it into a car place or even wal-mart and they can tell you if it's any good or not.

i replace mine if it dies on me more than once.
