Ah I don't know. I like both the stores, but I LOVE black clothing. I was actually really excited because a few days ago at abercrombie I got a dark grey shirt. Umm sorry I don't think that answered your question though, haha.

It's not trendy enough perhaps? Seems a bit odd they would not sell anything black, because black is a hot color this season. I guess that is there loss though. Maybe they are too preppy for black. Express has really cute black camis and tees.

those are the ultimate prep stores, so the darkest they will probably have is dark brown. Black is too dark even though i need a flashlight to shop in hollister

Because they cater to a more preppy, happy crowd that loves yellow, pink, blue, etc. Try Charlotte Russe or Wet Seal, or Hot Topic.

hollister and abercrombie & fitch may not sell black because it is a dark color...and they are more in to bright colors.....but some stores do...like aeropostale... www.aeropostale.com and american eagle.. www.ae.com and lacoste... www.lacoste.com ...or maybe you should try a simple store like DEB or forever 21

Because, its not trendy... its always in!! I have seen black things in their store before... I actually used to own a few when i shopped there, but their goal is to be as trendy as possible, and black is just not ever really trendy, because its always in and always perfectly fine to wear.... why do they sell white than you ask?? Beats me!

because black is for goth. or at least they're trying to eliminate the gothic people from buying their clothes, as in black.
