I don't know why anyone changes their own oil anymore. If you can't find a coupon to do it for $20 or less then your not looking very hard.

Fairly easy to change oil.
1) Drive car for a few miles, to warm up oil (it'll make it drain easier, and mix in the heavier contaminants, rather than just let them sit on the bottom of the oil pan.
2) Remove drain plug on bottom of oil pan.
3) Remove oil filter.
4) Replace filter with new one (coat rubber gasket with clean oil, to help it seal. Tighten as much as possible by hand only)
5) Replace oil drain plug. (be careful not to cross thread it, or over tighten it, causing it to strip.)
6) Refill crankcase with clean oil to amount recommended in manual.
7) Check level on dip stick, adjust amount accordingly.
8) Drive it for a short bit, recheck oil level, check for leaks around drain plug and filter.
Around here, some lube places charge about $20.00 for an oil/filter change.
ALWAYS change filter at oil change. Filters are relatively cheap, and no point having clean oil going through a dirty filter.
