I already have nightlife and university but i'd like to get either Open for Buisness, or Pets.

Yes, pets was a big let-down. The pets look nice. The pet jobs (3 in total) are stupid and offer no reward objects. The objects (except for the roofs) offered nothing new in terms of design, and next to nothing in terms of game play. No new place to go. And worst of all: NO CLARE THE BEAR!!!!
Buy Open for Business, and hold out for Seasons.
Seasons sounds great. Six new career choices with rewards (well, only one really new) (Adventure, Gamer, Journalism, Music, Teaching, and FINALLY, Law) at least two new aspiration rewards, rounded swimming pools and spiral staircases and the water slide, and, of course, weather. Hopefully they will bring back the Genie. Can't wait!

Yes. I played sims 2 for about a year and a half before I got any expansion packs. I only got university because I wanted the cool dorms and stuff. I only got nightlife because it had cars. and open for business so I could make heaps of money =) But I don't plan on buying any more as it's really not woth my money.
