My Maytag Performance oven will not maintain even heat. It will shut itself off at times, and other keep functioning properly. Any ideas?

it is normal for an oven to cycle on and off to maintain a temperature, more of a temperature range really. if the oven actually turns off it is probably a bad thermostat. maytag didn't go out of business, they got bought out by whirlpool corp. that will make them better!!

The computer that runs the thing. Maytag went out of business, at least the laundry division.

SOUNDS LIKE THE TEMPERTURE CONTROL SENSOR IN THE OVEN IS FAULTY. CONTACT MAYTAG THEY ARE ALWAYS SITTING AROUND BORED LOOKING FOR WORK

Call the nearest Sears service No. They repair all models and since it is probably the heat sensor, they can install a new one.
