Right now between the morning sickness and tummy akes, This new mommy-to-be is more concerned with getting throught the firt stages of pregnacy. If she is a teen mom then start by buying her books about what is going to happen in the next 9 months of her life. She will appreciate the thought and will understand some of the things that are changing in her body. If she has already had a child, she probabley more prepaired and not in the motherly mode like she was with her first child. Besides, You shouldn't be worried unless she talks of hurting herself or the baby, some young mothers can think this way when they are overwhelmed. I f you hear her talking like this, ( Make sure it's not just hormones ) TELL SOMEONE Ask someone what you should do...

Thanks for being a good friend to her.

There isn't any easy answer here, if she isn't jumping for joy or incessantly talking about knitting cardigans, doesnt mean she isn't interested, maybe she is overwhelmed. A baby is the biggest thing that can happen in your life and she may need some quiet time to adjust. If, however you feel she is depressed, she needs a little emotional support. Just have time where the baby isn't mentioned and she can be herself again without worrying about anything, or ask her outright if the pregnancy is making her sad. Its important not to judge, she may grow to become the best mum in the world, just be a friend and try to find the root of the problem, if there is even a problem at all.

You can't make your friend intrested in being pregnant. Right now she has a lot on her mind. I know this because I myself, is pregnant. She is thinking about, what happened, if she's ready, was it planned, what she is going to do. Don't pressure her, she is under a lot of pressure already. If it wasn't planned she maybe debating whether or not to keep the baby or give it up. All you really can do is be there as a friend and show her support, show her that you are there for her and that you are willing to listen to her when she need someone to talk to.

She's likely feeling overwhelmed. Allow her to work through things in her own time but try to be sure she has prenatal exams on schedule. Be supportive and ready to listen-even if she doesn't talk about the pregnancy. Give her time and just try to be the best friend to her that you can. Pass on a Congratulations!

She'll truly become interested in her own time, but a good thing to try is to purchase or check out a prenatal book for her. This book may answer some of her questions. A good one is 'What to Expect When You Are Expecting'.

Good luck to both of you.

Who and what is she not interested about? Do you mean if she is interested in her child? I am not sure of what you mean but if you wanted her to become more aware of the child then give her more information on experiencing pregnancy. That should help.
