Depends on a lot of things of course - ratings, popularity, cast, financial backing, etc..

Personally, I enjoy the show, but they've changed so much from the comic book storyline - I mean, Chloe never existed, Clark's dad died working on the tractor and it fell on him, his mom never ran for politics, Lana knew his secret for a long time and married some football player who was an alcoholic, by the time he was the apparent age he is now he already knew how to fly, etc, etc...

I think it will be only this year or one more year. It seems to me that they are getting things together for a Justice League spinoff though. They've already had Aquaman, The Flash, Green Arrow, and The Martian. They've also mentioned Gotham City once. I'm sure if Smallville is ended, it'll only be a short while for a spinoff to pop up.

Probably when Tom Welling stops looking good coz i cant find another reason why its still popular stopped watching it ages ago
