I am a soldier that is going on leave this month. And I am curious if it is normal to be nervous/terrified to go back and see your wife and/or family? I ask this because I have changed since I have been in combat.

I am also curious to know if it would be normal for the wife and/or family to be angered and/or fear your return? IE... The wife yells at you for something you did not do...or the family seems to be a little hesitant and/or bothered by you coming home.

Kat...you are reminding them of something that we don't like to think about here in our cushy little lives...it's them.
I get it, seems as though you are the one who has been out there doing the right thing and in lieu of the parade....you are getting the crap...everyone handles things differently, even though you shouldn't HAVE to, try to have some patience with them. They probably were so afraid of losing you that it is hard for them to believe you are home safe for real...good luck and god bless.

Dude. you are the one that is over there defending the country that they live in. I would definitely hope they weren't bothered by you coming home. If they are it might be time to look into a replacement.

So, grow up, I spent two tours in 'Nam with the AeroRangers in more crap then you'd care to read about and I lived through it, you will to. If your mature you'll be O.K.

If you arrive and your family greet you with anything but pride, keep walking and get a new family.

I'm sure it's hard on you and your family. It may be an adjustment... but things will get back to normal. Thanks for fighting for us! God bless you.
