3 years ago my husband and i bought a treadmill together for $400. well for the last 2 1/2 years its been sitting in my mothers basement. 2 months ago i brought it upstairs to be used by my sister and i. he told me that he was selling the treadmill to his friend and since i am keeping it, i owe him $200. i just found it so strange that all this time we were trying to sell the treadmill we had no buyer, now all of a sudden when i decide to start using it we find one. i am no dummy, i feel as though he is lying to me about this, i told him so. i also think that if someone was going to buy a 3 year old treadmill, they would not pay $400 for it. for $400 might as buy a brand new treadmill.

do u think it is right of him to make me pay $200 for the treadmill?

Are you still married to this guy? Sounds like you are no longer together. Dol not pay for the treadmill! If you are together then this guy has issues. If you are not together then it's his crappy luck since you are the one in posession.

Hes a cheap loser. Let him sell it, tell him it better be out of the house by next week and YOU better have 200 bucks in your hand right after. Then you can get another treadmill with your sister.

No that isn't right.. tell him that if he sells it you want half of the money. Then he will owe you $200. Sounds like he's just being an
a**. Tell him if he wants your 200 then he can sue you for it.
You should never owe your own husband money...what kind of
relationship is that?

No, both of you purchased it together. If you want it, keep it (but actually use it). Your husband is out of line. You could tell him to go ahead and sell it but he owes you $200. It's only fair right?

No it is not right, and you don't have to pay him anything, and he can't make you pay.I'm assuming you both paid half for the machine,So you wouldn't owe him anything. If he is selling it,you should get half of what he is selling it for.Your right, and don't be foolish enough to fall for that.

Give him a price list for usage of things he uses in the house and tell him he owes you. Nothing is for free.
