The Indian government doesn't fund Indian cricket. In fact the team you see in international matches is NOT the Indian team. It is the team representative of BCCI. It does not even have the right to sport the Indian flag on the uniforms. (The national flag on Tendulkar and Pathan's helmets are invidual preferences). The only Indian cricket team was the one that played in the commonwealth games a few years ago.
But the problem is that most top politicians run Indian cricket. And every other sport in India.
To answer your question, The Indian goverment spends more on other sport than Cricket - beacuse cricket does not require any funding.

Indian Government is not spending the money on Cricket. It is done by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Because of the popularity of Cricket over other sports, cricket generates lots of money by way of sponsorship, advertisement, telecast rights etc. s a result of which BCCI is the richest Sports Body today. They are spending money on cricket from the money generated by cricket and not taking away any other income for development of cricket.

No, Indian Government is not paying the money but it is the Board of Cricket Control of India. But I do agree much attentions are given to this game in comparison to any other sport.

cuz thts the only sport indias OK at.
we shld focus more on our engineers since indian ppl arent too good in any physical activity apart from me
