I got another of those 'please let me put XXmillion in your account and pay you a fortune for the innconvenience' emails, where they will try to fleece me for every penny I have. Now, obviously I am not falling for it, but is there anything I can do to stop this particular one? For example, he is using a Yahoo mail account, how would I report that to Yahoo? Anything else I can do to really mess his plans up?

Just report it as spam and forget about it.

If you have the time, you can report it to the email service that he is using, for this case Yahoo. But, what else can Yahoo do ? Close the account. Then, he just open another account and proceed.

It is simply nothing much we can do, unless there is some big coordination between major sites to track down those guys, and hopefully send them to jail for conning.

Ignore them is the best.

I have been feedback to paypal about scam that ask me to update my account. But I never receive any reply from paypal. I wonder if they care about this.

Educate yourself about this issue will be the best defense.
If all won't fail into this trick, they will just die off (hopefully :) , some trick have been around for years and still people fall into it )

You cant stop spam altogether but you can significantly reduce it

Tips to Help You Reduce or Stop Spam

1. Use a separate email address when you post messages to any public forum, such as newsgroups and mailing lists.

2 Beware of any free service, or signing up for every free newsletter without checking the T&C's

3. Consider acquiring multiple email addresses for different purposes. This helps you to identify different sources and senders

3. use 'disposable' email addresses

4. Remove your email address from your website.

Address-harvesting robots will spider your site and extract them.

5. Filter your email.

If you still get a lot of spam then report the abuse to DMOZ and other organisations

I hope this helps

Billions are stolen by these clever fraudsters, by people giving their bank details. Greed wins. Don't be fooled and report.

These people are small-time idiots who prey on other small-time idiots. Ignoring them is basically the only way... don't even read the email.
