I remember when Rock was Rock and it didn't need sub-categories to be put into.

They are a Rock Band, that's all you need to say!

They are non-challenging rock. My opinion is that there are some decent lyrics, and I have all the CDs and have seen them live three times in London and once supporting Bon Jovi at Milton keynes. If Jon Bon Jovi would have them on board they can't be all bad. Chad Kroeger (front man) wrote "Hero", the Spiderman theme if that rings a bell. They are Canadian and are on the Roadrunner label so you can get lots of info. at link below.

Wikipedia class it as:

Genre(s) Rock
Post-grunge
Alternative rock[citation needed]
Pop rock

I agree with the post-grunge part. They're soft rock, very mellow, often with unhappy tunes.
Not quite my cup of tea, I'm a huge fan of Iron Maiden. Progressive Heavy Metal at it's very best!

pop-rock probably or soft rock...I wouldn't even classify them as rock it's nothing like the real thing...it's all some generic mainstream junk
