i don't know if you would still qualify, but there's a program that my brother does with his preemie-daughter called "help me grow". they come to the house every few days to help evaluate her progress and teach him and his wife ways to help her develop.

was your son a preemie??? if so, then don't worry about "catching him up". preemies are different developmentally and always will be. sometimes they can catch up and sometimes they can't.
just work with him and stop stressing about him catching up. he will do whatever he's going to do when he wants to. my brother never crawled. he went straight into walking. maybe that's what your little one is going to do!

so, love him lots and work with him and stop comparing. take care:)

My daughter is 13 months old. She has just started supporting her head. She was 2 pounds 10 oz at birth. She has several birth defects including scoliosis, club foot, high palate, breathing problems. She is on oxygen and is tube fed. She recieves early intervention services, Physical therapy, Speech Therapy, and Home health nursing. We are currently trying to get Occupational therapy. If your child is not recieveing these services then you should try and get them started. There is early intervention in every state although it may have different names. Also EI is free. If there is any other info I can give you my email is mommy77@operamail.com. good Luck.

the first thing that i would do is take him to the doctor and ask for a referral to get some physical therapy. they will work with his muscles and let you know if there is any thing wrong muscle wise.

some thing you can do at home is make sure that he has plenty of opportunities to be on the floor. and if you see him trying to get up on his hands and knees, get a towel and run it under his stomach. that way you can support his weight while he gets the feel of what he needs to do. of course, if he is a ornery as my little girl she decided that it was a cool way to fly.

another thing that you might think about getting is a johnny jump up, or a jump a roo. they let your baby jump around and build leg muscles, as opposed to walkers which if your baby can't walk lets them just sit.

i hope these help, and don't worry as long as your son is trying that is a good thing. he will do things in his own time, but once he gets the hang of it there will be no stopping him.

Do a google search on "early intervention program" and the name of your state. You need to have him evaluated. It's a free program through your state. I urge you to do this today. Even if he were a preemie, he still should be able to pull himself up by now.

hi Jock... go away it on my own mate. dad and mom dont ought to tug a touch one's foreskin lower back... purely soak him contained in the soapy bathtub bathtub for an excellent at the same time as each and every nighttime.. it truly is all he needs in words of foreskin care. at the same time as boys get a touch older.. like 3 - 5 they initiate to clutter round about themselves.. and this loosens up the foreskin... then you are able to purely tell him a thanks to bathe his glans. Many boys do not attempt this upkeep for sure, and they replace into young ones with foreskins stuck to their glans by smegma... (see each and each and every of the questions about that topic in this communicate board) yet even then they could be able to artwork it free by the years.

if you have a Wic (women, infants, and children) office there go and talk to them about a program called first steps. they could help you out and maybe give you some advice on what you can do to help the baby out.
