Lol!!! goodness!!! Your question showed up ''everytime i see my neighbour's husbands' big black...'', I admit, for a minute I was a pervert. LOL..i apologize though.
Ok, so the question, yea, its absolutely normal, I mean when you see someone next to you having something better or bigger than you, but then its for you to debate with yoruself if its really worth comparing yourself with them. You, your life, your family is genuinely different from them, and trying to out-do someone may only harm yourself. It would not have any positive results. Both with your relationship wiht your neighbours, and on your husbands' wallet. They are doing something they may be able to afford, and probably you should just be yourself and try to make the best of what you have, while working towards things better. You could save up, or you could really out-do them in many other ways. But hey, if you can really afford a hummer, probably you could buy, for yourself and not just to ''out-do'' someone. Nothing wrong in that. You have to just accept that what your feeling is normal, and well...its not really positive thinking, but just promise yourself that you'll get over it. You could think alternative ways, like probably ''dress up'' your present SUV, a different paint, color, whatever, or something else....anything creative that you can think of.

yeah i thought this was a nasty question...thank God i was wrong...lol anyways....you've been blessed with what you have for a reason, those people have too obviously. but not everyone is out there competing with others...maybe they are just well off and like to buy nice things. If you really want a new car for yourself, buy it, but not to reduce yourself to the level of other "joneses"...good luck :)

You do whatever you feel like you have to. My SUV is seven years old, I just had the Chevvy garage rebuild it, it runs probably better then your new one. I have new tires and everything on it is new. I keep it this way for trips, and pulling my boat for fishing. Oh! by the way, I don't have a $450.00 payment and heavy insurance paymenst and, I smile all the way to the bank. That's the way I look at it.

You really do need to look inside yourself to discover why your self-esteem relies upon material possessions. There will always be those who have bigger and better things than you and there will always be those who have far less than you do.
Now, who are these Joneses and why do they matter so much to you?
