p4 is a desktop processor & was in the earlier days used in mobile applications., no more
presently, the core 2 duo processors from intel outdo the p4
especially the t7x00 family., which has an awesome 4 mb l2 cache !
the p4 mostly had 1 mb l2 cache & only the later p4's & extreme editions had 2 mb l2 cache
clock speed & other spec's of the t7x00 processors are as
t7200 > 2.0 ghz, 667 mhz fsb, 4 mb l2 cache
t7200 > 2.13 ghz, 667 mhz fsb, 4 mb l2 cache
t7400 > 2.33 ghz, 667 mhz fsb, 4 mb l2 cache
i still insist, the real player is not the 2.0 or 2.33 ghz that matter., they win on count of their awesome 4 mb l2 cache

inel core 2 duo is what you looking for , and if u need something that is the fastest one available in the market , get a macbook pro mate , its an awesome machine , infact mac is amazing

A laptop with 2.gh is more than sufficient for u...
If u take a good ram with it, a good supporteb fsb over 800mhz..
you will get definetly a much powerful speed...
