Could you survive in a post-apocalyptic world? What lengths would you go to?

Sure I could; I know how to take care of myself and anyone who needs me, and if something goes wrong then I pray for help.

I would do my best. After all, in such a situation, my life would literally depend on it. Humans are like herd animals: we work best in groups. The first thing I would do is look among survivors for potential allies. We would try to form something of a militia, and search out and stockpile food, medicine, supplies, and ammunition. Then we would pick out a strategic place located near a relatively clean water source. Then I would try to build shelters (slums would have to be temporarily adequate) and grow farms, and protect it all with some sort of fortified structure.

It sounds medeival, but hey, the feudal system worked in brutal times before such as the dark ages. Most survivors living alone wouldn't be as capable of defending themselves from inevitable bandit attacks or gathering food.

Undoubtedly, there would be those who would kill others for food or supplies, and that's why any societies or individuals rising from the ashes of a post-apocolyptic world would need to have at least some level of militarism if it wanted to last long.

I would go to great lengths to see that we did not go down without a fight.

I have plenty of ammo and a 4 wheel drive. I can survive in the woods if necessary. I'd do whatever it takes.

People would become part of the Food Source. I'm turning cannbile. Pass me some Leg of Mary Please, Thank you. I would life in a botany garden or something so I could get veggies.

But as Long as there are people, there's food.
