You can contact Experian for your credit rating, and work on clearing off any debts and chasing up any confirmation letters from debts that you have finished paying off
If you have no history or a poor credit rating... save the money up until you can purchase the item and pay for it outright.
Provident charge exorbitant intrest rates, and what is the point taking out a loan to buy something, if you are already in debt?

if by no credit history do you mean a bad credit history?
to get a loan you will need a bank account and a provable income.
if you have both, go to your bank in the first instance.

Can you get a credit card? Charge food and pay what you need. Babysitter and second job? When you ruin your credit, no one will loan you money. Sorry I have no better help.

Try provident or greenwoods (youll find them on google or in the yelllow pages) they can only lend you smallish amounts and the intetrest is high but it gets you out of a tight spot..good luck
