How good are Orange at actioning these? I want to leave the moment my contract expires and in general, these big companies are not so good at replying to letters/emails. Orange have ignored these from me in the past.

I've already decided what new phone I am getting and am choosing between 2 networks. Also, I did call 150. Just the last 2 years I have also tried to cancel but only to find that after they promised to, they did not or they ignored my letter, even thought I sent it recorded delivery...

Put it in writing to them stating the date you wish the contract to terminate. They will push for you to stay, however you may wish to make reference in your communication to previos reqyests for termination, and copy the letter to Local trading Standards at your local COuncil. Make sure you add "CC Local Trading Standards" in the subject line of your letter. That should get them moving

good luck

I called to cancel my contract and had no problems. Call them in January to give your 30 day notice and ask for written confirmation from them and get the name of the person you speek to and the time you called. Call on 150.

Call then 2/3 days later to confirm the cancellation.

You can get cheap new phones from here. They are part of the carphonewarehouse group and very cheap.

All the networks want their contract customers to stay as its easy money for them, you should give them 30 days notice and do it by phone, you will get letters from them and thet will try and get you to stay but you have to tell them you do not plan to continue using orange once your contract is up and they will disconnect you from the network, once your minimum term is up.hope that helps
