Breast truly is best! There's no reason not to try, even if it does not work out for you. It's easier, more convenient, and cheaper! I breastfed exclusively for 3 months before starting to supplement with bottles of formula (due to supply issues). I feel so much of a closer bond with my son when I breastfeed.

Do whatever you feel is right for you. It is a decision that only you can make. DO NOT listen to the Breast is Best Brigade or let anyone pressure you into breastfeeding if you don't want to do it. It is your baby, your breasts and your choice!
I decided before my son was born that I was definitely not going to breastfeed, however once he was born I changed my mind & decided to give it a go. I had had had a c-section so the milk was slow coming in and as he was a big hungry baby it just wasn't working and I switched to the bottle which made us both happier.
My daughter is 15 weeks old and i never breastfed her, even though everyone said it would be different this time. I find bottlefeeding handy as anyone can do it and I don't have a baby hanging off my breasts all day!
Don't listen to anyone who says you won't bond with the baby if you bottlefeed as that is crap. You will bond just as much as if you breastfeed and the dad can bond that way too.

I'm breast feeding my new baby.
Its so much better for the baby, they get all sorts of antibodies from your breast milk.
Plus there's no preparing bottles, sterilising stuff, mixing up feeds etc! Its all there, just the right temperature, "on tap" Much easier at night!
Plus its such a lovely way to bond with your baby.
Nature made breast milk for babies so why would anyone bother with substitute milk unless there was a medical reason they couldn't breastfeed? My son is nearly two weeks old and is doing great on breastmilk - he put on 14 ounces in weight in a week and is really healthy! Its good to know I'm giving him the best.

Bottle feed, definately! Then someone else can feed baby while you can have a bit of time for yourself. Breast may have been best a long time ago (before they invented allowing woment to think for themselves) but we've moved on a long way and no point being old-fashioned when you don't neeed to. No baby was harmed by being given milk from a bottle (some mums can't breastfeed) but keep everythind SCRUPULOUSLY clean. Good luck.

I am a breastfeeding mom and i would really recommend that you breastfeed. breastmilk really is the best food you can give your baby to give it the best start in life. it is quite demanding in that you have to feed the baby in the nights but you could have a deal with youre partner in that he has to do the nappy changes. that way you wont feel like you have to do everything.
i have had a really great experience breastfeeding. i made sure that i took all the help i could get from the beginning. the staff at the hospital were great. they helped me with positioning the baby and latching on. by making sure that i got it right from the very beginning i havent had any sore nipples at all.
its also a lot cheaper too. a tin of milk now costs about £7! this only lasts about 26 bottles. so the cost really does add up.
my advice is just to do what you can. if you manage to breastfeed just for the first day then great, if you manage longer then even better.
i hope you have aa great pregnancy and labour

Breast feeding is better for the mother as well as the baby, breast feeding provides the baby with extra immunities that it wont get from the bottle, it also helps the mother use up all the cellulite. It can be hard (my wife struggled for a while) but even if you only manage for a few weeks you are most definitely providing the best start for your baby.

I wont push any opinion on you but i did breastfeed all 4 of my kids. Breastfeeding is very beneficial and even if you only breastfed for a couple of days this gives the baby enough antibodies for 6 months :) A lot of women really do have difficulties in feeding this way and have to switch to the bottle.
What i suggest is give it a go for a couple of days see how you like it or if you can cope with it. No one is goig to force you to do what they want you to do its your choice of how comfortable you feel. Breastfeeding also helps the womb shrink back into place and its freeeeeeeeeeeee....... Good luck with baby !

To breastfeed is always best. Breast milk provides all the nutrients your baby needs during the first six months. Breast milk provides a higher resistence to disease by providing antibodies to fight bacterial and viral infections. It also reduces the risk of allergies and asthma and may also reduce risk of the baby developing long term illnesses including diabetes and heart disease. There are also plenty of benefits for the mother if you breast feed these include helping you to get back into your pre-pregnant shape, it protects you long term by reducing rates of breast cancer and ovarian cancer, and may also assist in contraception. Plus breastfeeding is always free!, bottlefeeding can cost up to $1000 a year.

There is massive overwhelming evidence that breast fed babies are healthier. Formula is made from cow's milk, which is designed for baby cows, not for human babies.
Some women can't or don't want to breast feed, and they should not be made to feel bad about that. But you really should give it a try, at the very least for the first week when the colostrum is being produced.
