I know when I was yung and even later many people were very afraid to get into an airplane. Is this still a major fear that people have? Are you afraid and fly anyway?

A fear of crashing, Yes that I do understand. I have that fear every time I get into a car but not when in an airplane.

I believe that many people still have the fear of flying on aircraft, although it is a very safe way to travel. I believe there are really two big fears that people have associated with flying, one being claustrophobic and the other being the lack of control on an aircraft.

If you look through the aviation section of Yahoo Answers you will see many people asking how to get over their fears of flying.

I on the other hand love to fly!!!

People afraid to travel in an airplane ... are you kidding? Haven't you ever looked up and seen the continuous parade of jets? They're flying because the people inside them are traveling on them to some other place. Stop by an airport and see if you still think people are afraid to travel in airplanes!

I have some fears of flying but after 9/11 those fears became greater and if at all possible I would rather drive then fly.

i'm not afraid, i like flying, planes are fun (except for the upset stomach on long flights i'm good). I think back in the days they were afraid for different reasons, some people probably still are scared to fly specially if they or someone they know had a bad experience before.

I'm not afraid of flying at all. I'm afraid of how dirty the planes are these days. I see facial grease spots on the windows, and dirty handprints on the trays they expect me to use for eating and working. That, and I'm really a much nicer person if I can smoke just once, while in midflight.

I get sick after almost every flight, mostly because the planes are so dirty and we're all packed in on top of one another. That, and the air filtration is a nightmare.
