Stealthing your router is the best first line of defence that you can have. Most routers come un-stealthed by default - Just follow the directions on the site listed below and soon your router will end up invisible on the Internet, best thing since sliced bread.

Most routers contain a hardware firewall. You can use that and a software firewall on your pc, they shouldn't conflict.
You need specific instructions, go to the manufacturers website or the shop that sold you the router.

your router is a firewall. there are 2 different kinds of firewalls...hard and soft.....hardware firewalls are things such as your router......software firewalls are programs

its already firewalled but there is a pdf file on the disc that came with it that walks you thru all the security
