sidelight stopped working on my avensis it is not the bulb because it works on the other side so what can it be? i have checked the fuses and they seem to be ok.hope someone out there can help.

bulb working on one side does not mean it will be working on the other try the obvious first (i.e the bulb)

Sounds like a short to me. Clean up all contacts around the bulb area also make sure that the bulb is making contact in its holder. If that doesn't work check wiring

If it ain't the bulb and it ain't the fuse, it's likely to be either a broken wire or duff connection. Try cleaning the bulb-holder for a start.

Wire, ,conection bulb, fuse. You have checked 2 look along the length of the wire, check for breaks, rubbing, etc. Failing that, check the actual connection, sand the conections etc.
