I have heard alot of hub bub about the intrusive nature of the Patriot Act. But i have yet to see anything about anybody having their civil rights violated.

If you have had it happen to you, i would love to know.
Please cite some sort of case, something with evidence please.

Thanks

Noone has.

It just sounds good to them to say it.

The truth doesn't matter. Being obstructive of our government does.

Lovely, isn't it.

Well Phoenix and Brainy.... :
Zero. That's the number of substantiated USA PATRIOT Act civil liberties violations. Extensive congressional oversight found no violations. Six reports by the Justice Department's independent Inspector General, who is required to solicit and investigate any allegations of abuse, found no violations. Intense public scrutiny has yet to find a single civil liberty abuse. Despite many challenges, no federal court has declared unconstitutional any of the PATRIOT Act provisions.

I certainly don't feel that any of my civil rights have been violated by the Patriot Act. We are living in dangerous times and the Patriot Act is one more way my government is trying to keep me safer. Because of the very real threats of terrorism destroying my family, my way of life, and indeed my life, I would gladly give up a few civil rights in order to stay safe and alive. Those who are screaming foul are just looking for something to complain about. They are not thinking clearly about the big picture.

NO ONE!!!!
Violations of rights due to the Patriot Act was all lies perpetrated by Democrats to help them get back into power.
Democrats complained that the Act took "rights" away from terrorists.
Terrorists have never had "rights" in any country.

Nobody has.

Simply because none of the laws in the 'patriot act' are new.

I do think that 'Patriot Act' is a stupid name.

I had a quite unusual intrusion. I was trying to get a lock in rate for natural gas this year and the gas company wanted my tax returns from last year in order to give me credit...

...when ask why, they said that to receive or be extended any credit that you have to provide the previous years taxes...due to the Patriat Act. Since I have not filed due to my CPA having a stroke, (she did an extension) I could not lock in on a Natural Gas Rate...Who'd thought!

I have a very simple answer for you. NO ONE. If someone has nothing to hide, then the patriot act is nothing to worry about.

My house was raided due to the Patriot Act.

I was totally absolved and have no problem with our government OR the Patriot Act.

The troubling part of it is none of us can really know. Most of the illegal wire tap records and internet trap programs are still listed as classified. Chances are most of us have been violated at one time or another, but there is no way to know until Congress orders and investigation (an ACTUAL investigation).

if anyone has had their "civil rights" violated, they were up to something no good. besides the point, if you are worried about having your rights violated then you also are up to no good !
