try looking in your internet options.

This is under start menu then control panel.

Check your setting's as you may have clicked to block downloads or put your protection on high or blocked cookies lol.

to be honest that is your best bet.

Only other thing I can think is that you may have a full hard drive and it will not accept updates.

Run virus scan as well just to make sure.

There are 2 easy ways to fix this.

IE ->tools ->Internet options ->Advanced tab ->Restore defaults.

Control panel ->Add remove programs ->remove IE. Then reinstall fresh by going to microsoft site. You can go to microsoft site thru Outlook. You can surf there instead of IE. Download, install. You should be good as new.

Your Hdd is not full / close to full I hope. If yes, let windows remove unwanted programs and clean up. Do a defragmentation.

You have some work cut out on the second option. Try the first option and if it works, leave everything else well enough alone.

Hey!!
you try the internet options in the tools tab of the internet explorer
first open your Interenet Explorer
then click the tools tab
then click internet options
then go to security tab
then click the custom level button
thenscroll down to downloads section
check whether radio button near the file download is checked or not
if not check it then ty downloading
but firefox is damn good
change to it
if still the problem exists then try the trouble shooting
that will definitely help you.
hope you get free!!!!
