some people have made. But here it goes.
I absolutely cannot remember how to rewrite an expression using the distributive property. The problem is 8x-40y.
If you can help - thank you.
If not, please don't comment.

The Distributive Property is an algebra property which is used to multiply a single term and two or more terms inside a set of parentheses
8x-40y

Here take out common terms from 8x and 40y
8x-40y = 8x - 5 * 8y
Here 8 is common in both the terms
--> 8x-40y = 8 ( 5 - 5y )
which is the answer.

An operation is distributive if doing the operation on a combination of things is the same as doing the operation individually on each member, then combining the results.
e.g.:
a*(b + c - d) = ab + ac - ad

It sounds trivial in ordinary arithmetics or algebra, but understanding it becomes important for operations in other systems (logical operations for electronic circuits, matrix operations, probability calculations).

Just as it helps to simplify equations in algebra, it helps simplify circuitry or computer programs (and plenty of other things).

First you have to get it into a form in which you can use Distributive Property so factor it out and get 8(x-5y)

lol, try this website it is hard to explain that so maybe they can do it for you:

You make me smile, lol, Good Luck : )

I don't know the answer but I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you have been bothered by the comments people make. I think you should just go ahead and post whatever questions you want to and if anyone hassles you just ignore them. Who cares what they think? I hope someone else can give you the answer.
