I guess it really depends. i know in the Mexican culture a lot of people have Mariachis for the funeral. how in my past we have had a combination of different music. I think the one I cherished the most was my great uncle's funeral (well as much as you can really cherish someone funeral) We had a starting of young singer to Sing Amazing Grace (which is a classic anyways) But he did a wonderful job. But it's really up to taste and tradition.

Elton John did a hell of a job for Princess Diane. I always like bag pipers do Amazing Grace.
