The process of learning never changes. However, they way we process the information does.

We learn by hearing, feeling, touching, seeing and tasting. That never changes.

But as we learn and accumulate more information, we process the information differently, have different opinions and react differently to the new things that we learn.

Stereotypes, pre-conceived ideas and prejudices all influence the way we learn and what we get out of new information.

So as we age and obtain information, we get different outcomes of things we learn, as we would have, had we been younger and not known as much information.

Now in saying all this, this is just a shot in the dark as we would never be able to test this theory because we cannot test the same person at different ages with the same information as we can't make people unlearn something.

I read about the relationship between learning and age, and while it's true that a young person will process new information more quickly than an older person, an older person will have the mental maturity to find the links between pieces of information and form a cohesive arguments and new grounds. Which is why the great scientists and philosophers often did thier best work middle age or later.

No, An older person can be reminded of things ,and out of the cobwebs of ones mind will come enough answers to fill many gaps of information. Then perhaps for most or I should say many along with wisdom and knowledge can quickly form a decision or answer with surprising results, positive ones. Not just lifes experiences but knowledge gained from study ,and not from other opinions alone.

I don't believe so, as you get older you put in different life perspectives into what you are learning. The knowledge takes on different meanings for you.
