Unearthly: Bulgarian women's folk choirs (weird falsettos, overtones, harsh fourths and fifths harmonies); the whole of John Cale's 'Music For a New Society' album; Steve Reich's 'Drumming'; 'Miserere' By Allegri; 'Here Come the Martian Martians' by Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers (joke).
Disturbing: Johnny Cash's cover of the Nine Inch Nails song 'Hurt' recorded just before he died (don't miss the video); 'All Tomorrow's Parties' by the Velvet Underground and Nico; '30 Seconds Over Tokyo' by Pere Ubu; 'Guts' and 'The Jeweller' by John Cale from the 'Slow Dazzle' album; 'Down In the Willow Garden' by Charlie Monroe (Bill's brother); 'The Dying Cowboy' (also known as 'Bury Me Not On the Lone Prairie') by Jules Verne Allen.
OMG - I've just given the most muso-nerd answer ever - help!

i does not say converted rather. yet considered one of my terrific acquaintances and the guitarist for our band now did not understand lots in any respect approximately punk or pre-punk as quickly as I met him. He became right into a reasonably super steel head, nonetheless is to be honest, yet he had a complicated time appreciating issues that weren't as complicated and rapid and technical as Slayer or Megadeth or Sepaltura, yet over the years because of the fact that song is a huge area of the two our lives we uncovered one yet another to our very own musical tastes. and because then he's surely found out that some properly placed chords or an elementary yet catchy progression is properly worth all the potential interior the international. besides the fact that he nonetheless study up on each thing and is ridiculously good at guitar of any variety, the song he writes himself is very usually a funky riff or progression and his CD series has a reasonably super punk element of it. And in tunr i've got taken a liking to a pair of his steel, besides the fact that I nonetheless can not stand something with gruesome gruff vocals, like Sepultura or that form of element. I even have whether taken an odd liking to the CD Reign In Blood by using Slayer, do not understand why.

The soundtrack from the Wicker Man's a bit freaky, but mainly in the context of the film.
Some of the music from John Tavener is very eerie and emotional, choral music , can be a bit freaky late at night - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Tavener

A buddy of mine once gave me a tape of these Tibetian Monks chanting. These guys are amazing...they know how to use harmonics to make themselves be able to sing two different notes at the same time. Very "out of this world" and extremely calming also.

I can't stand Mike Oldfield's Excorcist music - creeps me out big time!
Also, very disturbing, is a group called Gong - a hippy, band - truely dreadful (maybe because it has associations of a very strange person for me).
