There are a lot of religions out there some research will likely make you aware that all of them have inconsistencies. If you want logic and reason to be absolute I'm not sure religion will cover it for you since faith plays a big role in religion. Still, you say you feel the need, so what exactly is this need? Can you define it? Most, but not all, and I'm not an expert by far, are based on a higher power in some form or another. It can be comforting for some and fear factor for others since some people don't like to feel like they are giving up any control over their lives.
When you look at a religion do keep in mind that there are some points in each that may rub you the wrong way, but for the most part it will fulfill your need. Truly, I can tell you to pick mine, pick mine, but the choice is up to you and what will be te answer to what it is you are searching for. Take your time, it likely will become clear to you as you go through life, things will happen and things you see and believe in already will help you to decide.

Religion is about faith. Not science. There's no religion that has been scientifically proven to be true. I myself am a loose Christian. I believe in it, but I also believe in evolution. It's a tricky balance between the two, but I have made the balance. Good luck though! And don't choose scientology! That's just for goofballs.

Aah... the great science and religion debate. Well, first of all, if you want to follow a religion with a Higher Being, you need to have FAITH... and faith requires submitting yourself to some things that can't be explained by science...

Otherwise, science can be your religion... but then again, NOT all things can be explained by science.

I have to say Buddhism. Its a religion yet it doesn't circle around a god been the explination for everything in the world and furthermore... have you ever heard of radical Buddhism? No! The other popular religious options all have dark histories.

Don't follow any religion. All religions are blind and limited.
What you seek can only be found inside yourself.
It is not in a church, temple or mosque.
It is not in nature, a forest or mountain top.
It is not in any book or scroll.
The kingdom of heaven is inside you.
