So for them to allow 1.5 hours break in a 9 hours total shift is quite generous. Most people work 8-9 hours in a standard day with only one hour break. What are you complaining about exactly?
It sounds to me as though you want to take your 1.5 hours during a 7.5 hour shift - only actually work for 6 hours? And take 25% (1.5 hours) of your working day as a break? Who have you ever heard of who does that? Yeah sure, all 9-5 workers get 25% of their time off with 2 hours of breaks - get real!

1/2 hour i believe for an 8 hour day i believe its 2 15 minute breaks (paid) and 1/2 lunch unpaid
What they are doing is commonly refered to as a split shift (Which is illegal in most places).

Where are you? In CA (and I think most other states...? but I'm not sure so be sure to look it up) you can choose to take or NOT take lunch at the 6 hour mark. After 6 hours you HAVE to, by law, take a half hour lunch.
If you're lucky and live in CA, tell your boss up his rear (but nicely and in legal terms - look it up in the CA code http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html) work your 6 hours and go home. You're already working 6 hours anyway, the other 1 1/2 they force you to take is a waste, IMO.

If you live in the US, look in the Yellow Pages under Government fo the Wage and Hour Commission who will be able to tell you what the laws are where you live as they can vary state to state.
Where I live, a company does not have to give you breaks although many people think that they are entitled to them.

in china your 90 minute break could be what you got over 24 hours! I reckon your employer is suiting himself, and you want to suit your self. Do not waste any more of your time over this, and get a job somehere else

i would say ....by law...ALL OF IT... namely an hourse lunch and two 15 minutes... i suppose that if you opt to work through an unpaid period and you are unfortunate enough to have an accident, the company could wash its hands of any claim you thought you were entitled to because you shouldn;'t have been working.
Take the break.... we work to live not live to work.
