What are the advantages and disadvantages of students working during the holidays?

The advantages of working during the holidays are that they will have more money than usual, because they will most likely be working longer hours, plus a majority will receive holiday pay. If they work in retail or any other place that deals with holiday shoppers, the students will learn some patience and will learn how to deal with irritated or abusive customers.
The disadvantages of working through the holidays are the students will definitely go back to class feeling unrested, unrelaxed, and maybe even a bit resentful of the other students who had fun over their holiday break. They might work so much that they are unable to accomplish school work that was assigned during the holidays. The working students may even miss out of family get-togethers, which means they are missing out on some of the best moments. They will have to try and rearrange their schedules at work to make time for the family, or the family might have to postpone certain events until the student can get there. So working through the holidays will just cause the student more stress and worries than they needed.

Advantages would include earning money, and experience gained from work.

Disadvantages would include the student not receiving a break so would be unrelaxed and not ready to return back to school and the fact that the job may require them to work on the holidays themselves.
