What you probably refuse to know about Israel
I was born and raised here, in Israel.
As opposed to you, dear lol-pup, I always had the impression that it was you who were portrayed by the so-called-"free-media" as the poor ones who fight the evil Zionists ("modern Nazis", said foolishly an earlier poster). By looking at all the nasty comments about both Israelis and Palestinians in this site, I'd say that the truth is somewhere between us, and while many people do acknowledge and are familiar with the FACTS of the conflict, many others don't and aren't.
So here is MY truth, for what it's worth:
I've been living in Israel for more than 17 years, and I had the very questionable pleasure to see for my own eyes some of the most shocking sights and terrifying events of this conflict.
I was in Tel Aviv after a massive suicidal bombing and saw the rivers of blood spilled and poured in the streets of the city and on the walls of the cafes. I saw exploded corpses, sooty body parts and dozens of wounded, shocked and sobbing men, women and children. It was not a military base. It was a crowded road by the central station of Tel Aviv, where hundreds of innocent men, women and children pass every day.
I was in Afula, where a suicidal bomber exploded himself by the entrance of a mall. I saw the explosion and saw the evacuation of the corpses and wounded, mostly children and teenagers.
Oh, and speaking of teenagers, I bet you never heard of the Dolphinarium attack, right? Oh, you'll like this one: the Dolphinarium was a popular dance-club in Tel Aviv, on which many teenagers used to hang out on Friday nights. On June 1st 2001, a "brave freedom fighter" (i.e- a cold blooded murderer) exploded himself outside the club, among dozens of 17, 16, 15 and 14 year-old Israelis. Pretty brave, eh?
I am here every year at the memorial anniversary of my friend's sister, who was murdered in the middle of the street by a "poor and oppressed" Palestinain with an ax.
I am here alongside with a friend of mine who lost his father in a terrorists attack (and no, it was not a "rock" that killed him).
Who's killing who? That is a great question, lol-pup. You answer me.
I wrote this comment in order to put another mirror in front of you; another truth for you to consider.
I am very familiar with the suffering of the Palestinians, and I think it's only fair to tell this story as it should be told: with both sides in it.

To qesloqes (that woman flagging this), and those proudly claiming there is no Palestine, grow up. if you can't listen and respect an opinion like this, you have a problem, and you are part of the problem.
To most Americans, I'll just say that I have lived in both Europe and the US for a long time, and I have witnessed with my eyes the difference in reporting the news. It is hard to explain if you don't experience it. Let's just say that any report that looks objective can still emphasize some facts, some images over others. Most of the times it's not even intentional but the effects are real.
to anyone that has experienced both sides, it obvious that European media is pro-palestinian and that American media is pro-Israeli. ( I am not even talking about Fox news which is a farce)
To you who wrote this question, your people are living a tragic situation... I know it's hard to make concessions because many feel that this conflict has been very unfair (what's the ratio of civilian casualties... 10 palestinians to 1 israeli probably?). Also, Palestine's economy has suffered greatly while Israel's hasn't ... But this conflict will not be resolved unless both sides make efforts... It is really in your best interest for the future of Palestine that all palestinians put aside all the anger and stop carrying suicide attacks. there is no other way. good luck...

I feel very bad about your horrible experiences.
What I saw on American T.V.,however, was pretty much the way you described it.
I ,often, saw young boys throwing rocks, and Israeli soldiers shooting at them.
I really don't think our T.V. is that bad.I think most Americans can see the great disadvantage of the Palestinians. They just don't know what to do about it. Everyone has a right to defend themselves, even if it's only against boys with rocks; and I have seen that some of those rocks are very big.
I must, also, admit that Israel seems willing to go to great lengths to negotiate a peace plan, but the Palistinians seem to want nothing less than the destruction of Israel.
Israel appears to be too strong for you to bring them down, you need to negotiate a peace plan and stop thinking only about killing.

Written by using a Jewish individual ......................................... The occupation of palestine ought to end. There are 2 compelling motives for this. First, we choose to maintain the better component to our Jewish history—a deeply-ingrained experience of morality—and pass it directly to the subsequent technology, unsullied by using the mistreatment of yet another human beings. We have been reported to believe that, as Jews, we are obligated to continuously take the ethical severe highway and we can’t think of letting this proud ethical custom die now. 2d, we are confident that the sole thank you to confirm the protection of the folk of Israel is for their government to end a in simple terms peace with the Palestinians. with out some actual looking version of justice being achieved, there is not any longer peace, and so we oppose any Israeli government coverage that denies the Palestinians their valid rights. is that this place “anti-Jewish”? No, it is not (to any extent further than criticizing U.S. government rules is anti-American.) on an analogous time as we like all of humanity, we've a particular love for the Jewish human beings and for the warmth and compassionate fringe of Jewish way of existence. We proportion with all Jews the trauma of the genocide of our human beings by using the Nazis and our long history of periodic persecution. We comprehend the instinct to “circle the wagons” whilst our human beings face possibility, and we long for the day whilst Jews in Israel, as everywhere, would have the flexibility to steer prevalent, maintain, effective lives. The question is how will that happy day ensue? by using blindly helping the Israeli government’s self-detrimental direction to war and greater war? We don’t think of so. regrettably, the persevered violence in Palestine and Israel has led too a lot of human beings, on the two aspects, to undertake blanket stereotypes of the different, turning them into something “much less-than-human”. This skill of dehumanization then enables human beings to justify the violence committed by using their very own part, beginning the cycle as quickly as greater. it incredibly is a classic “lose-lose” situation that would proceed on constantly. Is there a fashion out of this mess? confident, we predict of so, yet on condition that we droop our comprehensible reaction of immediately blaming the different part. purely then will we objectively verify the basis reasons of the conflict and the sensible options there are for resolving it.

I didn't know that 80 had been killed in 6 days. I will take your word because you are writing in a believable and factual way, without any slurs. But it would be good if you added a link or two to back up your facts on the numbers killed and injured.
qesloqes, what do you mean "FLAGGED". This is lol's true opinion and view. She lived throught it! If this a violation, there's something seriously wrong with the Y Answers guidelines and their application!

The only way people learn both sides of the story is if both sides say their piece. The Western world gets filled with what at times is no more than propaganda and that's terrible. Good on you for speaking out, I hope it opens a lot of people's eyes, mainly those that have been blinded by the ******** they've been fed for years from USA backed news services.

I am seeing this "question" from you nearly every morning. I'm really sick and tired of it, also.
It's called propaganda. Sadly, some of our less informed will buy it. But they tend to buy most revisionist history.
Lay down your arms. And the rocks.
Oh, and how do non-Muslims fare among your people?

Yeah, right! It's Israel who's bombing innocent women and children. Sorry but I'm not buying that story. Tell your buddies to knock off launching the rocket at Israeli civilians and stop with the suicide bombings and all the other crap and then we can talk.

Rule #1... There's ALWAYS two sides to a story. Next, try being logical and apply your "standards" OBJECTIVLY. Until you condemn suicide bombers for blowing up pizzia and ice cream parlors, buses(for example) not to mention all the civilians. ALL civilians are innocent(both sides). So maybe when you drop that HUGE double standard maybe we'll have something to talk about.
