Depending on how much you want to spend....Heelys are huge this year. All 3 of my boys asked for them..(including my 10 year old) they are the shoes with the wheels...price range $60-100
Playstation2 has the guitar hero II game out...my boys love it..has a "guitar" controller...plays rock music...cost $70
Blue Man group electric pipe drum set...I think around $80
Camping gear, binoculars, nature/ animal books

They make little quads now, just like the pocket bikes but they are quads, you can adjust the speed to only go 5MPH and gradually go up as he learns to ride it.They also have a cord that you hold onto as you walk behind him that cuts power instantly.The china made ones brand new cost less than the power wheels do.This place is near me, you can buy a brand new kids quad for $299.

buy him a set of golf clubs. if he starts now, he can be great by highschool, and then get a scholarship into a good college. These clubs could change his life.

I second the puppy but make sure he knows its "his" puppy and he has to walk, feed, and care for it. Also how about a new bike? Take him to Busch Gardens to the safari there.
