depends, some people never get morning sickness and some have it the whole pregnancy. For the most part, it stops after 3 or 4 months.

Hi Honey. Congratulation on being pregnant tho I know that right now it does not seem like such a happy time!
The answer to your question is that it varies for every woman and it varies with every pregnancy.
You may find that with this baby your morning sickness could last the entire pregnancy (it did for me with my first baby) and with a subsequent baby you might not even have morning sickness! It is just one of the odd things about pregnancy that we have to deal with. There are still so many different theories that doctors cannot agree about what causes it.
On the average, morning sickness usually disappears after the first trimester (first 12 weeks), it should not bother you too much past that point. As I said, it is different for everyone and what happenes to one person my not happen to you.
Try not to let your tummy get really, really empty. Keep soda crackers by your bed and if mornings are your worst time try nibbling on one or two of those before you even get out of bed. Find something (anything!) that sounds good to you and that you think you can keep down, and keep it around, nibble on it here and there. Try things like toast and tea, avoid greasy things. Pasta sometimes sits well on a pregnant tummy. Sometimes a plain boiled potato with some salt and pepper (and a bit of butter) will taste good. Think bland and if you can remember, nutritious. Remember to stay well hydrated and just sip a little something all the time....little sips. Try taking your pre-natals at night, just before you go to bed. Hopefully if they make you nauseous you will sleep right through it.
Good luck sweetie, I know what you are going thru and it is NO fun. It will all be worth it when you hold that precious little baby in your arms!
Love and Blessings

Hmm - well in MY pregnancy, i was violently sick pretty much every 20 mins or so for the first 4 months, the only things i could keep down were crisps and diet coke (healthy i know,NOT, but when you cant keep ANYTHING else down u take what u can get!!) - had a few spells in hospital on a drip etc but then it DID ease off slightly once i got to around 5 months - then boy, did i crave really healthy food!!! Unfortunately though i only had about 1 month of the "glowing" pregnancy bit .... the last couple of months i had chronic heartburn and had to stand up to eat anything as my baby was really high up and i couldnt swallow in a sitting position!!!!!! Sorry...assuming that YOU are preggers and suffering, i bet i havent made u feel much better have i? Chin up - u DO end up with a baby at the end of it all (well, after the pain and suffering of labour!) oh....and then come the sleepless nights ...... I'm gonna shut up now - sorry!!!!! (i HAVE been there though so i sympathise greatly) xxxxxxxxxxx

It just depends - most people only get it the first 3 or 4 months. I felt vile my whole first pregnancy, although I stopped being physically sick after about 4 months. I began to feel better after 5 months in my second pregnancy. Often you have a period about 2 thirds of the way through when you feel pretty good and energetic. Then, at the end you feel very tired. Just get lots of rest right now to build up your strength for when the baby comes. I have a 7 and 3 year old and you never stop!!

I had morning sickness from about 6wks to around 16 wks, I found that ginger teas and gingernut biscuits helped. Apparently morning sickness is an indicator of a good strong pregnancy, and I always thought of this during my frequent trips to the loo! It does stop eventually, It got gradually less and less each day until it stopped completely.

Yes dear, usually they do stop around week 12 (by the end of the first trimester) but sometimes you can find ways to make it easier. like eating something in the morning, or not taking ur Folic acid pill early in the morning, or sleeping with a full or empty stomach. It really varies from one body to another, so good luck, hope it gets better soon.

For most women it stops at around 12-14 weeks as the hormones start to calm down at this point and the placenta takes over maintaining the pregnancy.
Some women experience it throughout their pregnancy, but this is much less common.

If you are being extremely sick every time you eat and are really bad, see your doctor.

Sorry to say it may not stop but it also might stop.
Baby 1 non stop sickness still vomiting whilst in labour.
2nd child only first 2 months,
3rd child 7months sick
4th not sick at all.
I guess it just depends on the person and each pregnancy.

That, my dear, is completely up to your body.
I never had any with the first few- at all. Then number five I had it for 8 months. Everyone is different. Each pregnancy is different.
The text book morning sickness only is in the first trimester.

I suffered from it, and discovered it was the folic tablets that were making me feel that way...

I wouldn't suggest not taking them, but try a different brand if you can, if you are taking them at the moment....

If your not little and often food wise, ginger is said to help good luck xxx

If your sickness is really bad, I would lay money down that your expecting a girl (u will have to let us know)
