That's right ... once you hit 92 you're automatically deemed an adult ... sorry but they had to draw the line somewhere ... otherwise all the "Jungle Gym Funhouses" at McDonalds would become overcrowded

Yeah its a rhyming thing lol it just sounds better to say 92. And who knows maybe at the time the song was written people had a shorter life span and 92 covered everyone!

this song was written by sammy cahn and mel torme in a heat wave in chicago in 1946, the air conditioner in the hotel was broken and they were thinking of things to stay cool....one of them was the obvious effects of heat on the elderly and thats where the line came from..the idea is that winter brings out the playfulness in all of us and the cold suggestions would bring them releif from the swelter.
