I have an Ipod and I do worry about the battery as I can not see anyway of replacing it when it finally stops recharging. Probably Apples way of making more money but I do find my Ipod is a lot better than a lot of MP3s out there at the moment. I wouldn't swap an Ipod for any other MP3.

IPod batteries wont last that long..i dont think. Anyways..if you like ur Ipod then keep it, i think the only reason someone said that was because ur Ipod after two years would be outdated..and it would be better to get another one that maybe holds more songs or has more features. You can buy Ipod batteries I think. Try searching on the web..then find the store nearest you:P goodluck EDITED the link below has Ipod batteries

i can help u here.
my kid had an ordinary iPod
the battery was never that good from day1
we got fed up with it
but had to change it anyway bcos the software crashed, which
happens very occasionally.
bcos of the super warranty rules,
we were able to upgrade to the nano. it is excellent.
i am sure apple are improving their batteries all the
time and this one is really good. the benefits
by far outweigh the need for recharge and it is
ok. u have to learn from the start how to preserve the
life of ur battery and how to economise with
the power. if u do that by reading thru the manual, which let's face it not too many do, it can really extend the life of ur battery.
guess who didn't read their manual from above answers and yes u CAN use a mains adaptor, we've got one and a car charger too.
u can get replacements for the battery anyhow.

Ipods are rubbish for 2 reasons.
Firstly the main chargeable battery does have a life which will run out eventually.
Secondly you need to charge it by plugging it in or attaching it to your computer.
I like the MP3 players which run on AAA batteries, that way you can always keep a spare with you in case it runs out but if your Ipod runs out of charge on a long train journey, you're stuffed.

well, I would say as an owner of a refurbished iPod mini that the batteries are fine. Beware of overcharging, however. The real only problem is that when your battery is low on charge (at least on iPod mini) it skips all your purchased songs and only plays the ones that were from your CDs. Hope this helps.
