I know Kevin Rose started Digg, I used to watch him on Screen savers, but I'm not exactly sure what Digg and del.icio.us are. I'm an avid RSS user btw.

Digg is a place for latest tech news and what's popular online. Also you can find sports, entertainment or political news there. Stories appear in the front page according to number of the votes from the members. You can subscribe to front page or categories with RSS and read latest stories.

del.icio.us is a social bookmarking network where you can store your bookmarks with tags and share them with people. you can see who else also bookmarked your pages and see their other bookmarks.

also stumbleupon.com is a nice social bookmarking / surfing service which I use more then digg or del.icio.us
