72 Chevelle 307 has new plugs and wires and still runs rough, timing is OK , 88, 000 miles -

77 Impala 305 idles and runs rough, spark is OK, 130,000 miles, is there a good hi perf 2 barrel carb? -

84 Corvette CFI , runs OK, idles fast ,1500 rpm, and check engine light comes on, 68,000 miles -

92 Camaro RS 305 TBI, lopes at idle,stalls when coming to a stop, 130,000 miles, sensors and EGR replaced

Sometimes the distributor cap can be bad. This is sort of common on Chevy small blocks.

307 did you check you air to fule mix could be fule filter maybe a jet in the caborater

impala with 305 i would check the fule filter

corvette i would check vacume lines for cracked ones or pulled off

camaro also check the vacume lines

The backyard mechanic trying to save money often overlooks simple problems like a cracked distributor cap, faulty coil, loose connections etc etc.

If you can afford 4 cars and buy performance equipment for them, I think you can afford to take them to a qualified mechanic.

If the heads were removed, distributer not set in the cam gear properly, Timing chain off a tooth. Else the firing order wrong (wire crossed). or distributer mis adjusted. Broken rotor button. valves to tight. (Adjusted before they had proper oil pressure).

72' I think plug wires might not be in right orcer
77" I'm thinkin' vaccuum advance is bad
84" I'm thinkin' vaccuum leak
92" thinkin' idle position sensor
at this point, this is all a guess

any smallblock with 100,000 miles ysually has a wiped out cam and lifters,, seen it many times.
