First, thank the stars above that you have another day :) Take stock of the good things in your life, family, friends. What was the last nice, out of no where something special that someone did for you? The last hearty laugh someone gave you? For me it's the little things, like waking up this morning finding my hubby at my bedside with a steaming cup of coffee and a good morning kiss. Last night my daughter let me look at her 'my space.com' to see pictures of her friends and read poems that she has written and posted, but to my great surprise, on the front page, there was a caption "My Hero" and it was me!! She is 16 and not always the easiest creature to get along with, and this touched me, hit me like a rock and brought tears to my eyes. She gets that I do just want the best for her, fights and all. For you, skip the news this morning and find something up lifting, funny, or touching, watch the sun come up and enjoy some good memories!! Best of luck to you, your not alone, and this is a tough time of year, so take time out just for you.

My best moment of happiness ever was the miraculous feeling of holding my new-born son in my arms and thinking that nobody's baby could ever have been half as wonderful as mine!
On a daily basis, I notice the little things. Smile to yourself when you see a mother smile at a child. Feel good when you see someone let someone else go first. If the weather is not so good, reflect that it won't be long before the sun comes back. Notice all the lovely little things; there are so many if you choose to look. Don't dwell on the other things, they pull you down. Choose your friends wisely; refuse to take part in conversations that make you feel bad (criticising people/things). Take time to smile at a stranger. Good luck.

On a beach, in Thailand, humid, sunny, not too sunny or too warm, I am by myself, I arrived in that country alone. As I set there looking at a tree (it wasn't even a palm tree) I felt like there was something more. It wasn't just a beach, and a tree and me trying not to get a sun burn, there was something more, I don't know what, and I don't know what triggered that feeling. Once you find it it lasts forever. I think that is happiness. I know it exists, I found it. It felt familiar, very familiar. Happiness!!

I guess we all have moments like these, for me, I think about a time, a place, something I did that made me smile, can be anything from the most embarrising moment, to my fav place, sharing something extremely special with someone you really care about, being around people who make us laugh is a good one, there are a couple of others, but perhaps I,m to modest to write them here, use your imagination, ( smiling now !! )

Giving birth to my Daughter, and realizing that "I did this, this beautiful perfect creation is mine forever!"
A wonderful pick me up on dull mornings like today, is when she wakes me up with a kiss on my back and watching her eyes light up when we turn the Christmas Tree lights on.... Even though it's been a week she still loves it!
I have had 4 and a half years of hapiness every morning with her- Even when I'm hungover!!

Sitting on my bedside, talking for 40 minutes on a cell phone to my best friend (who only happens to be a guy) on a Friday night after our other close friend (my bestest best friend, LYLAS!!) has logged out for the rest of the night and we know we aren't going to see them on Monday at school because she's moving. Even in the darkest of times, all it takes (for me) is to talk to him and my whole life just rises out of the dumps and I feel so energized, so happy, even in the saddest of times. I don't know how he does it. He's just amazing.

what makes me happy is making other people happy but it's very hard to do over the internet .you need to be there for people when they need you and when you are it makes YOU feel good about yourself.
